Keeping in contact

Feel free to email me dh@mts-ski.net if you want a message passing on. There will be an official Ski
Blog on the School website (link to be confirmed), as well as the unofficial version on the mts-ski.net
site.
Last year parents enjoyed seeing what was going on - even though boys were mostly unaware that it
was even happening.

Passports

Boys’ passports will be held by one of the members of staff, and boys should stay with the relevant
member of staff at all stages of the journey.

Baggage

The standard baggage allowance is 20kg, and of course all the usual rules apply about what can be
taken into the aircraft cabin. Suncreams, etc, need to be packed in the hold bag. It is worth
reminding boys not to bring along, or to buy large bottles of fizzy drinks before we clear security.

Hand luggage

ONE piece of hand luggage (only) per person, measuring 55 x 40 x 20 cm. Don’t forget this is
EasyJet and they are pretty fussy!

Bedrooms

Rooms will be allocated when we arrive, and whilst boys will probably manage to sort themselves into
year/friendship groups, if necessary, we will impose arrangements.

Included:

Ski and boot hire
Helmet
6 days of 4 hours ski tuition with Ecole Ski Français
Lift pass
Full board - breakfast, lunch and evening meal are all taken in the hotel
In other words, they don’t need money for lots of extras - however:

Spending money

Boys should be aware that cans and bottles of Coca Cola, etc, are often very expensive if bought
from vending machines or stalls. There will be a supermarket, and that will be the most economic
source of “supplies”. Boys will doubtless also find pizza and crepes outlets - and could probably
spend quite a bit. However, they should remember that all food is provided - and (despite boys’
claims to the contrary) is perfectly edible, tasty and nutritious. They should avoid filling up on pizza
before the evening meals!
I would recommend that boys “bank” their spending money with their passport-teacher! That way it
won’t disappear in the black hole of the bedrooms.

Breakfast

is compulsory before being allowed on the slopes.

Lunch / Dinner

Attendance at the meals is also compulsory even if a boy reckons he’s already stocked up! It gives us
chance to catch up with everyone.

Ski School

There will be two sessions of two hours in ski school every day. Attendance is compulsory. At other
times the boys will ski with us. They may not ski unsupervised at any time.

Helmets

Whilst not the greatest fashion accessory, all boys will have to wear their helmets at all times.

Suncream and gloves

are also essential protective items at all times - even on cloudy days, and/or if it’s snowing.
